Arindam Dutta is an experienced and seasoned Software Engineer with 8 years of extensive knowledge and experience in building scalable distributed products. He is currently working as an SDE at Walmart and actively looking for senior/lead roles only in product-based organizations. Arindam's areas of interests and expertise include designing scalable distributed systems using microservice architecture. He is a team player who believes in achieving goals by working together and mentoring people. Arindam loves to face challenging situations and thinks differently to implement thoughts into reality. In his current role at Walmart, Arindam has developed features such as an API Gateway like service using Spring Cloud for a requirement to route calls properly from Walmart to other 3rd party APIs. He has also integrated Splunk with this Gateway Service to log every request and response for these route calls for ease in debugging. Arindam has implemented a cron job feature called "Annual Caps," which entails a static ad spend capping value for each advertiser, and all of their line items would get paused if that cap is breached. He has also written another cleanup job, which would periodically cleanup users along with their preferences and notifications related data. Arindam has done several enhancements to the existing APIs, which resulted in creating newer versions of those and its related APIs. He has mentored a couple of team members while working together in the annual caps and API gateway project. Arindam has fixed many critical bugs and optimized the major APIs to reduce unnecessary DB calls. Lastly, he has optimized the application logs and introduced alerts for cron jobs by integrating Splunk with Spotlight, which was not in place earlier. Before joining Walmart, Arindam worked as a Staff Engineer at Altimetrik, where he worked with the PayPal Singapore product development team. He fixed many bugs and did a few enhancements related to the cards section of the product. Arindam developed a new feature - address normalization integration, which is used to verify the customer's address by calling the existing address management downstream service, which normalizes the address and returns the status as valid, invalid, or a corrected address. He also worked on another small feature - to show or hide certain critical information like Copy Card Number Button, CVV, Expiry Date, etc., on the cards. Arindam has a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computer and Information Science and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Honours degree in Computer Science from the University of Calcutta. His tech stack
