Arjun G. Menon is an experienced software engineer with significant industry experience in Android, front-end, and back-end development. He has worked on several large projects on GitHub and is passionate about writing good code. Currently, Arjun is working as a Software Engineer II at Wayfair, where he is involved in building the Wayfair website, which gets millions of unique visitors daily. In his current role, he has contributed to Wayfair's front-end (written in JS, React) by making UI improvements, writing unit tests for the React UI code using Enzyme, and helped build a GDPR cookie compliance framework that's used company-wide, and wrote new custom ESLint rules to enforce the use of this new framework. Arjun has also written documentation, drew system architecture diagrams in Miro, etc. Prior to Wayfair, Arjun worked as a Software Engineer at ActiveViam, where he was involved in building the UI for a proprietary database called ActivePivot, used by large financial institutions like HSBC and Freddie Mac. He worked on an SDK built around this database, which provided an API and React components for creating and manipulating queries, and visualizing query results. Arjun also developed various React components that enabled end-users to create and manipulate complex MDX queries, using lucid user interfaces. He improved code readability and robustness by adding Flow static types. Before ActiveViam, Arjun worked as a Software Engineer at Lifion, where he developed features for a web app designer that enabled non-technical users to specify HR and payroll logic through a drag-and-drop interface. He also implemented certain steps of a server-side data processing pipeline. Arjun holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
