Arjun Ajith is a Senior Software Engineer (Android) at Grab, with over 7 years of relevant experience in the field. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science & Engineering from VIT University, Chennai, where he was an active member of the Robotics team, Technocrats. Arjun's interest in both science and arts started in his childhood, where he worked on various projects with his father, from simple blinking led circuits to wireless RC cars. Arjun's unconventional path led him to start his journey at Grofers in the Design team, creating prototypes for various design iterations of the app. He then moved on to become a front-end web developer for an internal dashboard and an Android developer for the consumer app. At Grofers, Arjun handled feature development from design to app release, collaborating with cross-functional teams in Agile workflow. He was also part of the GOBD Sale task force, building constructs for user engagement for every sale event. Arjun's expertise in Android development includes developing new screens in React Native to ensure multi-platform compatibility and Codepush support, implementing AR features using Google ArCore, and integrating Google Maps (along with Google Places Autocomplete) to make it easier for users to select their location. He has also migrated several screens to MVP architecture and Kotlin and integrated Truecaller, Freshchat, and Branch.io. Arjun has set up base functions and guidelines for Animations throughout the app and worked on web frontend (Angular.js) and design prototyping using Framer.js. Arjun's tech stack includes Android, Software Engineer, Frontend, Web, Javascript, and Backend. He is passionate about exploring the intersection between science and arts and is eager to see where his unconventional path takes him.
