Arjun Thumbayil is a software engineer with a rich background in data science and conversion rate optimization consulting. After completing his post-graduation in Data Science Engineering, he began his career as a Business Analyst - Conversion Rate Optimization Consultant. He worked with multiple small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the e-commerce domain, primarily from the United States and Europe. He optimized their e-commerce conversion rates by resolving end-user pain points across various types of customer purchase funnels, hypothesizing possible frictions, and experimenting with them via A/B testing and other means to improve the user experience and thus the conversions. His exposure to working with designers, copywriters, developers, and testers in the software development life cycle got him interested in software development. Currently, he is exploring user experience further as a Software Developer building web applications in React.js & Next.js at Metastring Foundation. He believes his greatest strength is his interpersonal skills, which helps him connect, learn, and grow with people. Before his current role, Arjun wore multiple hats, learning from different roles and responsibilities in the first four years after his undergrad in Mining Engineering. This includes domains of Manufacturing, Ed-Tech (Sales & Business Development, Entrepreneurship), and Hospitality. He started as a Mining Engineer at Ambuja Cements, moved into Sales & Business Development at Byju’s in its early stage, co-founded an Ed-Tech startup, and moved into handling family business overlooking operations and allied responsibilities. Arjun's technical skills include Software Engineering, Javascript, ReactJS, Web, Typescript, Data Scientist, MongoDB, Search, Frontend, Redux, DevOps, Azure, NodeJS, product manager, Backend, and Infra. He has relevant experience of 3.36 years, and his education history includes a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Mining Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka and a Post Graduate Program in Data Science and Engineering from the Great Lakes Institute of Management.
