Arka Bhowmik is a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with more than 4 years of experience in the industry. He is currently working at Cloudera as a Software Engineer, where he is responsible for designing and developing authentication and backend-security designs, AWS backed architecture, and distributed systems. Arka is proficient in Python and Java development and has a keen interest in Deep Learning. Arka is well-versed in state management/transfers, API security, protocols, policies, OOPS design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and developing scalable architecture. He is constantly pushing himself out of his comfort zone and is always eager to learn new things. Prior to joining Cloudera, Arka worked at Moengage as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer. At Moengage, he played a vital role in developing IAM backend microservices from development to deployment in AWS-based CI-CD pipelines. He also developed enterprise-level highly secure authentication services, such as in-house SAML-based Single Sign-On functionalities, in-house O-Auth 2 endpoint support, role-based IAM services, Ratelimiting, Session limits, Custom policy support, among others. Arka also refactored, decoupled, and optimized existing monolith services into new, completely rewritten microservice backend with integrated logging and API-performance metrics. Arka holds an M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Engineering from Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata. He also completed his Higher Secondary education in Science from South Point High School, Kolkata.
