Arkadeep Sarkar is a Senior Consultant at EXL, with a strong background in data science and machine learning. He has a Master's degree in Quality, Reliability, and Operation Research from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University. With 3.78 years of relevant experience, he has worked on a variety of projects in different domains. Currently, Arkadeep is working as a Data Scientist at GE Healthcare, where he is gaining hands-on experience in sentiment analysis using Python, AWS tools such as Sagemaker and Step Functions, working with SQL in Amazon Redshift, and visualization software like Spotfire and Tableau. He has also developed a COVID-19 forecasting tool using the SEIR model of epidemiology and Scikit-learn, NumPy in Python, and interactive visualizations created using Plotly-dash. In his previous role as a Summer Analyst at GE Aviation, Arkadeep worked on an engine component damage prediction model, where he used multiclass classification and regression approaches to predict the level of damage in an engine component using engine sensor data of nearly 10000 cycles for 60+ engines. Arkadeep has also worked on various projects at GE Healthcare, including VOC Sentiment Analysis, MDM Dashboard, and ETL tasks for IBAC. He has experience in developing stored procedures for populating Redshift tables for various sources, developing and executing Informatica Powercenter mappings and workflows for connecting the RS tables to Salesforce and Heroku platforms, and testing the various ways of training and deploying machine learning models on AWS Sagemaker.
