Arnab D. is a Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin, where he is working towards his PhD in computational geophysics with a focus on probabilistic optimization algorithms for large scale seismic inverse problems. With 8.95 years of relevant experience, Arnab has a strong background in research and development in the geophysics industry. Prior to his current role, Arnab worked as a Research Geophysicist Intern and Geophysicist/Software Developer at Schlumberger. During his time at Schlumberger, Arnab developed Petrel plugins for image registration for multicomponent depth processing, fault interpretation from post-stack seismic data, and Omega SFM for Omega-ProSource integration projects. He also worked on deep learning for multi-component data processing inspired by the computer vision community. Arnab's education background includes an Integrated MSc. in Exploration Geophysics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He has experience with various technologies and tools including research scientist, ML, computer vision, deep learning, neural networks, microservices, NodeJS, Python, and AngularJS. Arnab is a highly skilled researcher and developer with a passion for geophysics and a strong work ethic.
