Arneish Prateek is a Software Engineer at Microsoft, currently working on backend engineering with the Data & Integration Services team for helping realise Microsoft's Open Data Initiative for Dynamics 365 (Finance and Operations). He has a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master's in Computer Science (focus: Data Mining) from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He is currently enrolled as a fifth-year graduate student in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at IIT Delhi, completing his Master's via IIT Delhi's Advanced Standing program. Arneish's Master's thesis is on heuristics development to more scalably solve an NP-hard Data Mining (specifically, Graph Mining) problem, and a conference paper detailing his work is expected soon. He is interested in algorithm design and development, especially in the domain of parallel and distributed computing, as well as low-level systems engineering. In a previous life, Arneish worked on Chemical Engineering topics, particularly biomedical engineering. He performed experimentation on Dopamine-sensing using specially-constructed nanocomposites which he synthesised and characterised. The year-long research endeavour resulted in the publication of two scientific papers that he second-authored. He also did cursory work on Particle Aggregation as a part of his Bachelor's thesis. Apart from his academic and professional achievements, Arneish has also worked with college-fest marketing and events teams during his sophomore year. His other position of responsibility during his undergrad was as the Class Convener, a student-representative position to which he was elected for one academic year. In this role, he attempted to contribute to the betterment of curriculum policies at IIT vis-a-vis students' interests. Arneish has worked at Microsoft as a Software Engineer in the past, where he worked on .NET development for building the back-end Microservices architecture for enabling data integration features for Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance and Operations). He has a total of 4.70 years of relevant experience in the tech industry.
