Arslan Ahmad is an accomplished software engineer with over 18 years of professional experience in system analysis, architecture, design, development, and maintenance. He is the author of the Grokking series, including Grokking the System Design Interview and Grokking the Coding Interview. Arslan is also the founder of designgurus.org, where he serves as the Co-Founder and CEO. Arslan's expertise lies in distributed systems architecture, distributed storage systems, web portals, service management infrastructure, scalable system design, algorithm design and implementation, and software watchdogs and monitoring. He has successfully driven several development cycles of multiple products, making him a valuable asset to any team. Currently, Arslan is working on distributed storage at Facebook for data warehouse and HDFS/Hadoop. He has previously worked as a Software Engineer at Facebook and a Senior Software Developer at Hulu. At Hulu, Arslan worked on Hulu's next-generation messaging network, Mercury, which enabled all Hulu devices to communicate with each other in real-time. He also designed and developed persistent storage for Mercury in Cassandra to serve 50k queries per second. Arslan holds a Masters (MPhil) in Computer Sciences and Software Engineering from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences from the same institution.
