Art Gillespie is a highly experienced and accomplished senior software engineering leader with over 23 years of relevant experience. He has a deep passion for product development and user experience and is a lifelong learner with an insatiable curiosity. Art has a proven track record of building and leading large, agile product engineering teams to successful delivery of world-class products at companies like Voyage Auto, Udacity, Google, and Nest. Currently, Art is a Senior Engineering Manager at Cruise, where he leads the Remote Assistance and Route Planning team. In his previous role as Senior Engineering Manager at Voyage, he led the design and development of the hardware and software platform that implements Voyage's teleoperations solution "Telessist". This platform streams 4k 360-degree video from an autonomous vehicle to a remote operations center 30 miles away at extremely low latency, allowing a remote operator to monitor, send commands, and even safely remote drive the vehicle when the autonomous system encounters novel traffic situations. Art is a hands-on engineering leader who enjoys wearing many hats, including engineering manager, architect, product manager, software engineer, user tester, and technical program manager. He is also a CEO of Trainify.io, where he applies his expertise in engineering management and product development to help companies build better software products. Art is a graduate of Belmont University and Murray State University, where he studied computer science. He has a broad range of technical skills, including senior software engineering, product management, and software engineering. Art is a results-oriented leader who is passionate about delivering products that help people be more productive, safe, creative, or happy.
