Art Machado is an accomplished Information Security, Risk, and Compliance specialist with over 25 years of experience. He has held senior leadership roles in both Systems Development and IT Operations. Currently, Art is serving as the Vice President of Information Security at PeopleFluent. Art has a proven track record of building and maturing cross-functional, end-to-end Information Security, Privacy, Compliance, and Vendor Management programs and capabilities. He has partnered heavily with Sales, Customer Success, and Legal functions on vendor risk assessments, contracts, and all customer-facing security & privacy issues. He has also led all aspects of SOC 2, GDPR, and CCPA compliance efforts. Art has worked with several prestigious organizations in the past, including Macy's, where he founded the GRC team and built up new organizational capabilities for Information Security, Compliance, and Risk Management. Under his leadership, the compliance function ensured consistently high ratings on all internal and external IT audits for the last 5 years, while the division grew from $500M to $3B. He has closely partnered with Fraud, Loss Prevention, Legal, Privacy, and IT to build robust, cross-functional risk and compliance processes. Art has also established new corporate-wide standards of best practice by pioneering efforts in Security Incident Response, Security Awareness, and Vendor Risk Assessment. His Information Security capability has stood up to 6 years of PCI recertification assessments without a single major finding. Art holds a B.A. degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a seasoned professional with 29.04 years of relevant experience in the field.
