Arthi Suresh is a Machine Learning Engineer at Meta, with a passion for using data to build impactful products. She has over 6 years of experience in the tech industry, with a focus on products that facilitate health, creativity, and commerce. In her current role at Meta, Arthi has built a team of data scientists developing strategy for several 0-to-1 initiatives, including popular/trending, question-answering, unconnected recommendations, interest management, and interest systems. She also helped launch an MVP of a content-centric search interface by developing content quality and relevance signals, understanding product health, and influencing key pivots. Prior to her current role, Arthi worked as a Data Scientist at Facebook, where she led a cross-functional team to develop search query dimensionality reduction techniques, contextual navigation datasets, and visualizations to identify core search use cases and associated performance metrics. She also helped launch keyword search by defining health metrics and system opportunities, and developed failure mining approaches and measurement frameworks to evaluate and improve components of a blackbox search system (indexing, retrieval, speller, NLP). Arthi has also worked as a Data Scientist Intern at Facebook in the Videos department, where she helped understand longitudinal trends in the video production ecosystem, build top video dashboards, and identify key usage patterns for the video insights product. Arthi holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Columbia University, where she graduated in 2016. She was also Valedictorian of her high school, Monroe Township High School, where she graduated in 2012.
