Arun Raj Shanmugam is a Senior Lead Engineer with over 10 years of experience in software development, particularly in Android frameworks, Android application development, and AOSP customization. He is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at smardtv global. Arun has worked with several companies in the past, including technicolor connected home and sierraware. At technicolor connected home, he delivered the IPTV Fast Channel Change (FCC) feature and developed a system service to get QoE insights of Android STB with Agama Technologies. He also integrated the RTSP library for VOD services and worked with external stakeholders such as Broadcom, Huawei, Ruwido, and 3SS. Arun has hands-on experience in using Ubuntu Linux environment for AOSP development and has fixed issues related to Android STB Google certifications (CTS, VTS, and GTS). At sierraware, Arun worked on the SierraVMI (Virtual Mobile Infrastructure) project and customized the Android Media Framework module to stream video frames. He also achieved low latency playback/record using OpenSLES and implemented the camera streaming feature in Android and Windows UWP VMI app. Arun has modified the Android Camera Framework module to support multiple camera configurations and customized the Android Camera HAL to receive camera data from SierraVMI android app. Arun holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Anna University.
