Arun Baby is a highly skilled and experienced Research Scientist with a passion for research and technology. With over 9 years of professional experience, he has a broad engineering background and has developed expertise in a range of areas including machine learning, deep learning, speech technology, and natural language processing. Arun has over 7 years of experience in machine learning and deep learning, with a focus on conversational AI, voice cloning, expressive speech synthesis, and speech synthesis/recognition for Indian languages. He has also worked on grapheme to phoneme for Indian languages, which is a critical area for developing speech recognition and synthesis systems for Indian languages. In addition to his technical expertise, Arun has a strong track record of leading teams and developing his own skills and those of the people around him. He is always looking for exciting new opportunities and is open to collaborating on new ideas. Currently, Arun works as a Research Scientist at Zapr, where he is involved in developing controllable expressive text-to-speech, Indian English handling for TTS and ASR, call center voice analytics, and NLP for Indian languages. He has also worked as a Senior Research Engineer at Zapr, where he focused on conversational AI, including voice cloning, bilingual models for Indian languages, prosody controllable models, and NLP for grapheme to phonemes. Arun has a Master of Science (MS) by Research in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science from Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology.
