Arun George is a highly experienced Software Engineer with over 10 years of professional experience. He holds a Master's Degree in Wireless Communication from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Arun has a strong background in developing Firmware, embedded software, and host software for SoCs used in mobile communication applications. He has excellent C programming and debugging skills and has developed and tested real-time applications for SoCs based on Tensilica Diamond Standard Core processor IP. Arun has also developed multithreaded applications in ThreadX RTOS for multiprocessor SoCs using synchronization primitives like mutex, semaphores, and events. Arun has worked on multi-threaded firmware designs by assigning task priorities for efficient scheduling. He has also participated in RTOS porting and implementing the interrupt mechanism. Arun has developed firmware for time-critical DSP applications and driver APIs for configuring various hardware DSP IPs like JESD, Automatic Transmit Power Control, SPI, UART, etc. He has worked on multiprocessor JTAG debugging for figuring out runtime issues in multiprocessor real-time applications. Arun is familiar with working with signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes. He has worked on developing windows host application software using C++ for issuing commands to the main SoC firmware over SPI and UART interfaces. Arun has worked with the device tree overlay of BBB for various Linux distributions and configured SPI and UART interfaces. He has developed Linux-based client/server applications for BBB and worked on different versions of Linux kernels. Arun is familiar with the booting process and configurations of BBB. Arun has experience in firmware development from FPGA RTL stage till SoC tape out stage. He has developed make scripts which integrated the whole software build tool chain for automotive projects. Arun has developed linker scripts taking the memory constraints into account and used gnu compiler utility tools for troubleshooting critical issues. Arun is currently working as a Member of Technical Staff at AMD. He has also worked as a Senior Lead Software Engineer at Qualcomm, where he worked on QNX and GreenHills Integrity HLOS based in-vehicle infotainment system development. Arun has worked on secure applications for the infotainment system and has a good understanding of security applications like keymaster, gatekeeper, File Based Encryption, master side and slave side Access Control with SMMUs and MPUs.
