Arun Ramachandran is a highly experienced software engineer with 15 years of industry experience and expertise in designing, full life cycle development, testing, and deploying a wide range of enterprise-grade services, including hybrid cloud solutions in Azure. He has a deep understanding of security, privacy, performance, and scale aspects and has experience in designing and fine-tuning products for the same. Arun is currently working as a Principal Engineer at Microsoft in the ‘Azure edge and platform’ Org. He provides technical leadership in the development of ‘Azure stack edge & Gateway’ and STORSIMPLE solutions. The Azure stack edge & gateway solutions bring intelligence and compute from cloud to Edge and provide data ingestion capabilities for global customers across various Azure Geographies. The STORSIMPLE solutions provide high available cloud-backed tiered storage with backup and disaster recovery. Arun has experience in planning, scoping, and costing new products and features, driving releases by collaborating with multiple teams, handling live-site and customer issues, and maintaining various cloud services with high availability. He is a technical leader who provides guidance to teams to work against odds and unknowns and helps mitigate risk when working on tighter release schedules. In addition to his current role, Arun also has experience in design and development of embedded solutions, mobile applications, and application middleware development for OEMs. He is skilled in Azure services and technologies, C#, C++, Restful service, estimation, planning, design, technical leadership, and mentoring. Arun holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Kerala and a Post Graduate Diploma in Embedded System Design from the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). He has worked as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer at Microsoft in the past. With 17.45 years of relevant experience, Arun is a highly skilled and experienced software engineer with a deep understanding of cloud computing and technical leadership.
