Arup Dutta is a Senior Software Development Engineer at Microsoft, with over 13 years of experience in designing, architecting, and developing large scale distributed systems. He has a strong background in building systems to handle real-time data transfer and low latency response, as well as in grooming teams to deliver critical projects under challenging situations. Arup is experienced in peak load readiness activities for large scale distributed systems, and in scale-up and scale-out activities to achieve performance and cost targets. Arup is a firm believer in establishing and promoting good engineering practices and is biased towards simple and long-term solutions. He is ever curious about learning and improving his skills. He has extensive experience in building systems on cloud infrastructures AWS and Azure. Currently, Arup is working in the Cognitive Capabilities space for Azure Communication Services, leading efforts with a team of 10 engineers to add next-gen features to Azure Communication Services. He is enabling turnkey capabilities such as closed captions, recording, real-time media streaming, and AI capabilities for Azure Communication Services calls at scale. Arup is also leading efforts to share and propagate knowledge and instill best practices in the organization to encourage learning. Arup's past experience includes working as an Associate Consultant at Microsoft, where he represented Microsoft in Universities to promote and encourage Windows App development. He independently designed and developed tools to ease ERP data migration pain points and automate ETL validations. At Amazon, Arup worked as a Software Development Engineer II, where he improved and scaled the transmission pipeline for Alexa Notification Platform to reduce delivery latency. He also worked on Identity and Profile management features for Alexa and launched the Pharmacy category on Amazon Retail India. Arup holds a B.E. in Computer Technology from Nagpur University and completed his Higher Secondary education from DAV Public School, Hindustan Cables, Rupnarayanpur.
