Arushi Ahmed is a Software Engineer at Comcast with a Bachelor of Science in both Computer Science and Mathematics, and a minor in IT and Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her area of focus is Human-Computer Interaction, and she has recently done HCI research on the stresses that international students face and how they cope with them while studying in the United States. This has helped her develop other areas of interest such as Web Development, iOS Development, and Natural Language Processing. Arushi has a passion for traveling, photography, graphic design, and sports. She was the Co-Chair President for Women in Informatics and Computer Science, where she helped create a stronger bond for women in the CS and Informatics community. During the summer, she organizes the Michelle Farnsworth Field Hockey Tournament in honor of her friend who passed away from cancer. Arushi transformed Michelle's artwork into stickers and sold them on Society6 to keep her memory alive. Before joining Comcast, Arushi worked as an Undergraduate Course Chair Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she managed three out of thirty teams to ensure students were following the guidelines and due dates of project milestones. She also co-instructed weekly lab sections and provided extra help sessions to answer questions or concerns from students. Additionally, she worked as a Peer Mentor, guiding first-year female students through the transition into college and majoring in computer science. Arushi's tech stack includes Software Engineering, Web Development, iOS Development, Natural Language Processing, and Research Science. With 3.19 years of relevant experience, Arushi is a driven and passionate software engineer who is always looking to improve and build new technology for users.
