Arvind Jayaprakash is a seasoned software developer with over 19 years of experience in the industry. He is passionate about creating scalable software and has been coding since he wrote his first program in August of 1990. He is currently the Senior Vice President of Technology at Inmobi, where he is responsible for solving productivity issues in the technology organization. One of Arvind's key strengths is his ability to maintain agility in an organization with hundreds of technologists. He achieves this by evaluating how organic growth is impacting the conceptual integrity of various components and sub-systems, determining the right set of abstractions and compartmentalizations, and shaping things so that building on top of these basic blocks is easy for any smart engineer. Arvind is also passionate about harnessing the power of data. He works to achieve convergence across the objectives of data scientists, Hadoop experts, and business general managers. He orients everyone towards a common objective and is an integral part of the problem-solving process. Aside from his leadership role, Arvind remains the core developer for most of the internal server-side frameworks and libraries that are very demanding both in terms of scale, throughput, and response times. Before joining Inmobi, Arvind was the Chief Software Architect at the same company, where he led the overall system design to scale transaction volumes by a factor of 200 and made it run faster by a factor of 50 while using about 15 times more hardware. Prior to that, he worked at Yahoo as a Technical Yahoo, providing technical leadership for various new and old products like kids, cricket, weather, and more. Arvind holds a BE in Information Science & Engineering from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University and a Bachelor of Engineering from Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College. He is skilled in mobile development, big data, data science, research science, Hadoop, and senior software engineering.
