Arvind Ramachandran is a skilled backend developer with over 4 years of experience in implementing REST APIs and cloud deployments. He is currently working as an SDE-II at Swiggy, where he is building the Location Intelligence team. Arvind is an alumnus of NITK Surathkal, where he completed his Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. Arvind's experience includes working with distributed systems, RDBMS, developing and engineering revenue-critical services. He is skilled in Java, Golang, gRPC, REST APIs, Microservices, Git, Oracle SQL, Docker, and Kubernetes. Arvind has also worked with AWS, DynamoDB, and S3. Prior to joining Swiggy, Arvind worked at Oracle as an Applications Engineer. He actively contributed to the porting of services from a monolith to a microservices architecture for the Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) team. Arvind developed Helidon based REST APIs that helped users leverage the DaaS functionality and obtain verified, validated, and enriched data. He also worked on containerization and deployment of the microservices to OCI cloud and drove the migration of the entire customer base from on-premises to cloud. Arvind has also worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Walmart, where he designed a dashboard from scratch for an Order Management System (OMS) as part of Sam's Club Mexico division using React.js and D3.js. The dashboard was able to display real-time sales data for Walmart Mexico stores. He also added a responsive map using Google Maps API to create immersive location experiences and make better business decisions with accurate real-time data and dynamic imagery.
