Arvind Ramachandran is a highly skilled Software Engineer with over 5 years of relevant experience in the e-commerce industry. He holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science from SUNY - University at Buffalo, NY. Arvind's technical expertise is vast and includes Java/Jersey/Jetty, REST, HBase, MySQL, Storm, Kafka, Redis, Python, Nginx, Linux, and Git. He has also worked on several projects involving Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, RxJS, Numpy, OpenCV, Distributed Systems, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Computer Vision, Tensorflow, Keras, Flask, CouchDB, Firebase, and Google Cloud Platform. Arvind has worked as a Software Development Engineer at Flipkart, where he was responsible for developing and maintaining mission-critical services in Java that managed order data and state. He was an active part of a complete top-down rewrite and shift of stack from Ruby to Java for Order Management backend service that owned Orders and propagated order changes downstream, which resulted in an increase of order processing capacity by 200%. He built a scalable extensible event-driven service in Java to facilitate miscellaneous actions that are to run on order events, which led to a spike in adoption rate and is now a core service. Arvind also implemented real-time batch data processing on the scale of millions of tuples using Storm and Kafka. He drove the implementation of multi-tenant features into all service contracts under the Order Management Team purview for the launch of the Flipkart Marketplace Platform. Arvind's education history includes a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University at Buffalo and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from the College of Engineering, Guindy. During his undergraduate studies, he volunteered with the Youth Red Cross and participated in trips to homes for blind children and read to them. He also was part of a group trip to a village to perform municipal work as community service. Currently, Arvind works as a Software Engineer at Motive, where he is part of the Safety Team, building services and features to deliver actionable insights and coaching tools to customer fleets.
