Arvind Ravindran is a highly experienced engineering leader who has a proven track record of building strong teams from scratch. With over 14 years of relevant experience, he has designed, developed, and operated highly scalable products and platforms. Currently, he is serving as the VP of Engineering/Distinguished Engineer at Freshworks, where he is responsible for the long-term architecture of platform services. He is a part of the leadership team of Platforms at Freshworks and ensures that features/solutions built by platform teams are architected with long-term sustainability and wider usage in mind. As the Engineering Head of Unified Customer Record (UCR) platform, Arvind was responsible for the people, architecture, and delivery of the platform. UCR is the Customer Data Platform that forms the foundation of Freshworks CRM. It builds a 360-degree profile of a customer by capturing customer data from all interactions and touchpoints to enable better engagement by providing customer data. He also spearheaded the Freshworks CRM project to its GA at Refresh 2020 and was accountable for the product architecture and delivery, which involved product solutioning, engineering, and project management across 15 product and platform teams. In his past roles at Freshworks, Arvind served as the Senior Principal Engineer and Chief Architect of Freshworks Neo, where he was responsible for the long-term architecture of platform services. He also played a dual role of Engineering Manager and Chief Architect for the Freshdesk product, a customer support software that works across multiple support channels. He hired, mentored, and managed the Freshdesk Product Development team and played a key role in building this team from scratch. He created a highly motivated and engaged team of developers with zero avoidable attrition and had a strong emphasis on team culture and people development. Arvind holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli. He is a Senior Software Engineer and product manager and possesses a well-rounded experience in building both products and platforms.
