Arvind Thirumurugan is a full-time Software Engineer with a focus on back-end services. He is currently working at Cerner, where he has implemented various features for customizing the Cerner command center, a dashboard that centralizes data from multiple microservices to deliver real-time hospital metrics about staffed bed capacity, care demand & equipment. He has also designed and developed components for Capacity Management, a real-time health system solution to execute hospital workflows and improve patient throughput, efficiency, productivity & outcomes in an agile environment. Arvind has implemented Migration scripts while guaranteeing passivity and preventing downtime for existing functionalities. He has also analyzed, monitored, and resolved various defects and client issues. Arvind's past experience includes working as a Graduate Student and Graduate Student Researcher at UB Wireless Networks and Systems Lab at the University at Buffalo. Here, he performed experiments with high-end smartphones using 802.11ad WLAN standard to measure and visualize various performance metrics using Python. He also implemented an HTTP live streaming server in Node.js to stream encoded 4K videos to compute PSNR and SSIM. Arvind has a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University at Buffalo and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from RMK Engineering College. He is interested in cloud-based microservices, Event-driven development, messaging queues, and In-memory caches. Arvind is proficient in Software Engineering, Microservices, Backend, Research Scientist, Javascript, NodeJS, and Python. He is currently learning about the intricacies of Software development and is always looking to expand his knowledge and skillset.
