Arya Vedabrata is a Chief of Data Innovation and a Ph.D. Scholar at IIM Sambalpur with over 15 years of experience in driving data analytics programs in the banking and financial service industry. He has hands-on experience in running analytics projects in diverse domains such as retail and commercial banking, trading, internal audit, HR, fraud, risk, and technology. Arya is an expert in strategizing data management approaches for various kinds of data repositories, including operational, data warehouse, and big data. He is a seasoned campaigner for cutting-edge data quality programs and driving data science programs at the enterprise level to showcase hidden value in the data and build data products to harness those. He has built high-performing teams from scratch and is known for building a culture of innovation demonstrated through Intellectual Property Rights (Patents). Arya's specialties include data analytics, data science, visualization analytics, analytical product development, team management, data quality analytics, data warehouse, business intelligence, banking analytics, audit analytics, and fraud analytics - financial crime (anti-bribery, internal fraud, insider trading). Currently, Arya is working as an Industry Specialist - Board of Studies Data Science at Birla Global University. He is a member of the Board of Studies of the institution Data Science program, helping the institute design an industry-relevant program for students. In the past, Arya has worked at Qualcomm as the Head of Data Science and ran the Data Science program in India working on a variety of ML model building and product development projects with a team of Data Scientists. He has also worked at DBS Bank as the Vice President - Head of Analytics CoE DBS Hyderabad, responsible for building and operating the Data Science Center of excellence program in DBS Hyderabad. Arya holds a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Information Technology from IIM and a Post Graduate degree in Project Management from the University of Hyderabad. He also holds a B.E. degree in Information Technology from NIST and a Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor's degree from BJB College. He completed his education from DAV Public School. Arya's tech stack includes expertise in Data Scientist, ML, Big Data, Research Scientist, and Infra. With his relevant experience of 15.45 years, Arya is a highly skilled and experienced professional in the field of data science and analytics.
