Ashtyn Hall is an experienced Software Engineer with a focus on data and Machine Learning. With a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, she has a demonstrated history of working in the technology industry for over 7 years. Currently, she is a Senior Software Engineer at Square, where she is responsible for designing and implementing software solutions to support the company's operations. Prior to joining Square, Ashtyn worked as a Software Developer at Wave Health Technologies, where she architected and implemented a computer-assisted medical coding engine using Python. This platform leverages Elasticsearch, SpaCy, and OpenCV to parse the text of medical records and find evidence that a provider has cared for their patients in accordance with HEDIS Quality of Care standards. She also wrote a Flask API that serves the data found by the coding engine to medical coders and auditors, reducing the overall time and effort required to code these charts. As a Data and Analytics Consultant at CapTech Ventures, Inc, Ashtyn developed a custom data ingestion engine using Java and Spring Boot. This engine empowers data scientists to share data sets into a data lake without having to wait for IT assistance, while also automatically providing governance via use of metadata validation and scans for potential private information. She also developed and implemented a data storage and ETL strategy for a fraud detection platform serving a Fortune 500 healthcare company, using Apache Spark and Flume to load, clean, and transform data into historical records for customers, claims, and providers.
