Ashwin Gopinath is a Software Development Engineer currently working at LimeChat. With a B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIIT Hyderabad, Ashwin is passionate about software development, machine learning, data science, deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and programming (C, C++, Python). Ashwin has gained valuable experience in his field through his previous roles. As an Undergraduate Researcher at the Centre for Visual Information Technology, he worked with Prof. Ravikiran Sarvadevabhatla to systematically analyze the pipeline in general crowd counting methods and improve them using a binning scheme based on Entropy to tackle data imbalance. As a Data Science Intern at Eigenlytics Data Solutions, Ashwin implemented a decoding algorithm for the OCR pipeline which extracts text from document images for practical applications. He also created a text classification model based on Deep Learning, which achieved a 95.76% classification accuracy on word-level printed and handwritten test images. His skills include Python, Deep Learning, Image Processing, and NLP. Ashwin's education history includes a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, which he is set to complete in December 2022. He also attended Chavara Public School Pala Kottyam from 2016 to 2018.
