Ashwin Nair is a software engineer with over 5 years of experience in designing software and infrastructure that impacts daily life. He is currently working at Joyent, an autonomous cloud service provider for SCloud that is fully owned by Samsung Mobile. At Joyent, Ashwin is responsible for incorporating a GraphQL API for the production UI development and benchmarking/testing databases using open source tools to determine key architectural decisions related to database cluster architecture in FoundationDB. Ashwin has extensive experience in developing software development kits (SDK) for Manta, an open source object storage technology. He has developed code, made code-reviews, improved automated build systems and testing, and performed feature development for open source projects that depend on Manta SDKs. He has also authored architectural documents describing SDKs function and made improvements to documentation. Additionally, Ashwin has leveraged both unit/integration testing within Client-SDK & associated tools to ensure software reliability. He is proficient in troubleshooting and triaging reported issues and feature requests and coordinates within product leadership about prioritization of existing and upcoming issues. Before joining Joyent, Ashwin worked as a software developer at the University of Florida. He was a member of the software development team that leveraged a theory of stratification and parametrization of assembly configuration spaces of geometric constraint systems developed during research, and designing an efficient algorithm to obtain an atlas of assembly configuration space that captures the intricate geometry as interconnected regions of varying dimensions. This includes involvement in the development of EASAL(Python & C++)- an open source software to implement these algorithms related to computational modeling, software engineering, and algorithms design in the field of Computer Science. Ashwin has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Florida and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Allahabad. He also completed his High School education in Mathematics and Computer Science from The Aditya Birla Public School. Ashwin has a strong tech stack that includes Software Engineering, test, infra, UI, AWS, Azure, Integration, Mobile, NodeJS, Java, Research Scientist, Keras, Python, TensorFlow, Neural Networks, and Backend.
