Atanu Ghosh is a seasoned Software Engineer with over 8 years of experience in leading, building and shipping exabyte scale distributed infrastructure software systems. Currently working at Facebook as a Software Engineer, Atanu is responsible for Ads Delivery and Product. He has designed features such as instream-ads reserved buying, contextual ads, and Audience Network Integration for the “Reach & Frequency” product, which has brought in additional $XB+ revenue per year for Meta. Atanu has also implemented “waterfall logging” across the entire Ads web tier, which has helped identify poorly performing code blocks and optimize them, resulting in a 40% improvement in request latencies perceived by advertisers. He has also optimized delivery for multi-media rich ads, working across entire ads delivery and indexing systems. Prior to his current role, Atanu worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Facebook, where he developed an analytical model in C++ to classify under delivering ads and exposed new APIs in Hack (PHP) to call the above classifier via Thrift. This classifier was used to display and track under-delivering campaigns, both to internal and external users, and possible reasons for the poor performance, which helped advertisers take necessary action to improve ad delivery. Before joining Facebook, Atanu worked as a Software Engineer at Flipkart, where he designed and developed an accounting system to track orders, returns, and refunds on Flipkart.com. He also developed the new PDF templates for Invoice and payment receipts of Flipkart.com. Atanu holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science from R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore.
