Atishay Jain is a highly accomplished Machine Learning Intern at Roku, with a diverse background in the tech industry. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science from UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering and has previously earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. With over 5 years of relevant experience, Atishay has proven his expertise in various areas such as ML, AWS, Sagemaker, NLP, Python, Data Scientist, Research Scientist, and Deep Learning. He has excelled in his current role at Roku, where he worked on movie banner classification and automated manual workflows to filter out inappropriate content. He has also conducted meetings with stakeholders, defined the problem, and translated business needs to technical specifications such as metrics. Atishay has evaluated existing solutions and defined baseline model performance to beat, and trained image classification models using AWS Sagemaker to achieve this goal. Prior to his role at Roku, Atishay worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Structured Prediction for NLP at UC San Diego, where he conducted dedicated OHs to resolve student queries related to course content and assignments. He also helped design and grade assignments for the course. At Esri R&D, he served as a Senior Data Scientist and developed and integrated deep learning-based Object Tracking capability in FMV player in ArcGIS Pro 2.8 (and onwards). Additionally, he was responsible for the upkeep of ArcGIS API for Python object tracking module. Atishay also pioneered an innovative algorithm for scanning and registering scanned paper maps, which was added as a submodule in ArcGIS API for Python. Atishay has a strong educational background, including a Gold Medalist distinction from IIT Guwahati. He is proficient in various technical skills and has a deep understanding of the latest industry trends.
