Austen Hoogen is a highly experienced software engineer with over 17 years of relevant experience. He is a back-end and architectural kind of engineer who enjoys writing software that makes people happier and solves their problems. He is not interested in Front-End/Full-Stack work. Austen has a diverse skill set and finds himself solving strange problems in all sorts of areas. He has recently been getting into the lower-level of logic and software engineering, designing hardware, and assembling the software to run it. In a world of Cloud Everything, Austen finds it satisfying to hold a circuit that he built which does some task he has built it to do. Currently, Austen works as a System Administrator at East Madison YMCA. He runs and maintains a public computer lab for the East Madison/Central District community. He maintains the availability of network services and provides technical support for East Madison's computers and software. His past experiences include working as a Freelance Computer Consultant and Software Engineer at Business Internet Services. Austen has an AAS degree in Film & Video Communications from Seattle Central Community College. He also has a degree in Motion Picture Production from Shoot Film Not People. Austen has worked with various technologies such as AWS, Python, Java, PHP, Golang, Docker, MySQL, and Microservices.
