Prior to that, he earned an Engineer's Degree in Computer Science from the International Institute of Information Technology. As an Applied Scientist at Amazon, Avijit works on vision and multi-modal deep learning problems, leveraging his expertise in NLP to help develop cutting-edge technologies for Amazon Prime Video. He is well-versed in a variety of tech stacks, including Research Scientist, NLP, and Deep Learning, and is always eager to learn new skills and technologies. Before joining Amazon, Avijit worked as an Associate Research Engineer at ETS, where he was part of the NLP and Speech Research group. There, he worked on automated text scoring and video interview assessment projects. Prior to that, he was a Research Associate at the University of Washington, where he implemented low-resource language modeling for Automatic Speech Recognition as part of the LORELEI project.
