Avinash Kumar is a Senior Technical Specialist at Philips Lighting with over 15 years of experience in Cloud, Distributed Computing, and the Internet domain. He is currently working on Philips Bigdata infrastructure for batch processing as well as real-time processing based on the Hadoop ecosystem and is responsible for ingestion to their platform. Avinash has extensive experience in Java programming with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. He has seen projects starting from scratch and participated as an individual contributor in different areas such as development, testing, and support. He has a deep understanding of AGILE methodologies and Test Driven Development (TDD). In his previous role as a Software Engineer II at FICO, Avinash worked on Real Time Predictive Analytics for fraud detection using Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Logstash, Storm, and Hadoop. He developed seamless running Spark on AWS EMR for various use cases, including dynamic Spark functions mapping in cluster mode. At Nokia, as a Technical Specialist, Avinash was responsible for designing and implementing an end-to-end solution for streaming ingestion using FLUME to S3 as well as for their Hadoop cluster in their data center. He migrated customers from their Hadoop platform to S3 mainly from Scribe to FLUME, and the migration happened in a seamless way. He also automated deployment using CFN to scale on demand as needed with rolling upgrade options. Avinash has a Bachelor's degree in Information Science and Engineering from JNNCE, Shimoga. His tech stack includes Hadoop, Spark, AWS, Java, Elastic Search, Kafka, ETL, and Apache Hive. With his relevant experience and expertise, Avinash is a valuable asset to any organization.
