Aviv Laufer is a seasoned technical leader with over 21 years of experience in building global teams and products. He is currently serving as the Production Engineering Manager for the Messaging Infrastructure team at meta, where he ensures the delivery of over 60 billion messages a day. Aviv is passionate about building and scaling products and services and helping people grow. He is skilled in managing small and large engineering teams, having led teams of over 200 members. Aviv is recognized as a Google Developer Expert (GDE) in Cloud, which is a testament to his deep knowledge and expertise in the field. Aviv's career highlights include his role as CTO at Rounds (acquired by Kik), where he scaled the system to support 30 million users pre-acquisition and 200 million post-acquisition. He also led the technical due diligence, made the mobile app release cadence to a weekly release cycle, and moved the company to a data-driven decision-making process. Aviv was also a co-organizer of GopherCon Israel, dedicated to the Go programming language, and was part of the CFP committee. Aviv holds an MBA with a major in Information Systems from Tel Aviv University, where he also earned his B.A in Economic and Business Management. His technical expertise includes senior software engineering, infrastructure, and SRE. Aviv takes a hands-on approach to his work, actively getting involved in leading his teams.
