Ayush Kumar is an experienced software engineer with a strong background in building Java and Python applications from scratch in microservices architecture, enabling them to scale from 0 to 10X. He has a demonstrated history of working in the Fintech industry, with research experience in neural networks and mathematical modelling. Currently working as a Backend Engineer at GetYourGuide, Ayush has a special emphasis on big data processing/ETL pipelines on Spark, Hadoop, NiFi, and Flink, with a focus on data quality and governance. He is also learning the ropes on event bus architecture and platform designing. In his previous role at Cred as a Platform Engineer 2, Ayush played a key role in developing an A/B testing platform for multiple backend and app experiments with an analytical interface to derive experiment impacts and change configurations on the fly. He also implemented big data processing around user data using ETL pipelines and Spark and Hadoop jobs on EMR, Phoenix, Hive, NiFi, Airflow, and event consumption in queues using Kafka streaming for real-time updates. Ayush was responsible for designing and implementing ETL pipelines, data quality, data governance, rule engines, database design, data visualization, clustered applications, scalability for 10X, caching principles, and object-oriented programming. He also implemented low-level design and led discussions for high-level design with tech leaders with an emphasis on building a generic platform that can scale for 5-10X traffic, low onboarding time for new requests and clients, async processing, performance benchmarking, POCs for service-level components for DB, cache, logging, monitoring, and alerting. Before joining Cred, Ayush worked as a Software Engineer at Airtel, where he was involved in integrating different payment modes like credit cards, net banking, Paytm Wallet, Amazon Pay, UPI, and PayLater wallets with special emphasis on dynamic payment gateway switching to handle traffic for downtime and fluctuating payment modes. He revamped the existing monolithic legacy architecture into 8-10 microservices and was able to increase payment success rate and decrease user drop-offs. Ayush implemented payments module microservices from scratch for the MyAirtelApp designing modules for payment gateways (CC,DC,NB), wallets, UPI (real-time API integration with multiple gateways and route traffic dynamically based on previous success rate). He also implemented and managed batch jobs for refunds, payment status, settlements, and data migrations
