Ayush Pandey is an experienced Engineer and Researcher with a demonstrated history of working on Computer Vision and Deep Learning. He is currently working as an Incoming Perception Engineer at Waymo, while pursuing his MSCV at Carnegie Mellon University. Ayush has a diverse background in both academia and industry, having worked with top-notch organizations like Waymo, Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute, and HyperVerge Inc. At Waymo, Ayush is working as a Software Engineering Intern, Perception, where he has developed a Python Interface to enable the Research and Development of Active Learning algorithms. He has also explored Active Learning for Curriculum distillation and Efficient data mining in the 3D domain. Ayush has reduced the training data-set size and time by 70% and achieved superior performance for one of the tasks. He has collaborated with Waymo Research and Google Brain to develop state-of-the-art solutions. In his previous role as a Research Collaborator at Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute, Ayush worked under the guidance of Professor Fernando de la Torre to perform 3D face reconstruction given a 2D image of a person. He explored the use of Occupancy networks to generate displacement maps and ID-MRF loss to improve photo-realism. Ayush also explored the use of StyleGAN2 to generate better texture for occluded regions of the face. Ayush has also worked as an AI Engineer, Team Lead, Face Dedup Team at HyperVerge Inc. where he led a team of 3 people to develop Face Recognition solutions for 1:1 and 1:N face match applications. His team achieved the 33rd org rank on the global leaderboard NIST FRVT 1:1, 1st in India, 1st in Vietnam, and 2nd in the US. Ayush also filed a patent for the dedupe tech. Ayush has a Master's degree in Computer Vision from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Mathematics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani - Goa Campus. His technical skills include Research Scientist, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Python, and AI. With 5.36 years of relevant experience, Ayush is a highly skilled and motivated individual who is always eager to learn and explore new technologies.
