Azhaan Zahabee is a highly motivated and accomplished Software Engineer currently working at Amazon Web Services (AWS) as an SDE. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Columbia University, where he developed a keen interest in Distributed Systems, Cloud Computing, Operating Systems, and Computer Networks. Prior to joining AWS, Azhaan worked in the Networks R&D team of Samsung, where he developed intelligent innovative Scheduling and Resource Allocation algorithms. His key project, Dynamic Spectrum Sharing, required him to collaborate with his Korean counterparts at Samsung HQ, providing him with invaluable international exposure and experience. Azhaan is a firm believer in giving back to society, both personally and professionally. During his undergrads, he developed a web application for searching blood donors in remote parts of the country, organized hackathons, and TEDx talks to provide a platform to share ideas and solutions to conventional problems. With a passion for learning, Azhaan aspires to learn from luminaries and contribute towards a technological breakthrough that provides unprecedented consequences and convenience to millions of humans. Azhaan's education history includes a Master of Science in Computer Science from Columbia University, a Bachelor of Technology (Honors) in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Dhanbad, and a High School Diploma from La Martinere College. He has 3.87 years of relevant experience and is proficient in Software Engineering, AWS, Web, and MySQL. Azhaan is a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Columbia University, where he teaches COMS 4111 Intro to Databases under the guidance of Professor Donald Ferguson. He has also interned at Amazon in the past.
