Azmain Amin is a full-stack software engineer with a passion for machine learning, specifically in the field of natural language processing. He has a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Computer Science from Washington and Lee University and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Machine Learning/Interactive Intelligence from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Azmain has over six years of experience working as a software engineer, with a focus on both back-end and front-end development. He is proficient in C#, .Net, Python, NodeJS, and JavaScript (ES6) and has experience using AWS, Jenkins, and Octopus Deploy for CI/CD. Azmain is also familiar with agile methodologies, specifically the SCRUM process. In his current role as a Software Engineer at Microsoft, Azmain works on web applications built using the .Net framework and React, as well as utility applications programmed in C#. He also spends 20% of his time working with a smaller ML team within Novelist to build ML tools to automate their cataloging process. Prior to his current role, Azmain worked as a Senior Software Engineer I at EBSCO Information Services, where he worked on machine learning projects, including creating a multi-book recommendation system using Word2Vec and Fast Sentence Embedder and a multilabel classifier to predict metadata about books using book reviews. He also worked on full-stack projects, such as integrating a third-party email editor into their product and implementing new text search functionality. Azmain is a self-proclaimed machine learning enthusiast and his specific interest lies in natural language processing. He is currently pursuing his master's degree in this field and hopes to become a research scientist in the future. Azmain is also an avid reader and has set a goal for himself to read at least 12 books this year.
