Backer Muhammed is a hardworking professional engineer with over 5 years of experience in the fields of Environmental and Process Chemical Engineering. Currently working as a Projects Coordinator for Hazmat and Recycling Waste Management at Seashore Group Qatar, he is responsible for supervising daily and routine operations related to hazardous waste collection, management, and disposal services. Backer maintains daily reports of collected, recycled, and disposed wastes, updates personnel data, and ensures that personnel working with valid passes, permits, PPE, etc., for the required works. He also maintains and distributes collection reports and certificates for collected wastes, disposal/recycle certificates and reports for wastes disposed/recycled, and permits required for transport of domestic, solid, and hazardous wastes. Backer provides monthly reports to various clientele with details of wastes collected, disposed, facilities involved, procedures involved, etc. He also profiles hazardous wastes and designates appropriate waste disposal facilities and documents hazardous waste movement. Backer has previously worked as a Junior Environmental Engineer at Seashore Group Qatar, where he led the Junior Process & Planning Engineering team in the erection project of Elecrochlorination, Incinerator Plant & Material Recovery Facility. He was responsible for ensuring that all works were done as per Qatar Law & Norms and specifications, familiarized with QP Guidelines in setting up a Plant in industrial cities, estimated Plant erection, equipment fabrication, and operation cost via Microsoft Excel. He also obtained permits from relevant government for waste management and hauling activities, coordinated with authorized disposal/recycling facilities in regards to disposal of recyclables, hazardous substances, and general wastes, and prepared, reviewed, and updated environmental investigation reports. Backer has a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Chemical Engineering from National Institute of Technology Srinagar, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Law and Policy from National Law University, Delhi. He has experience in using scientific principles related to magnitude, momentum, heat transfer, etc., investigating and troubleshooting plant/process problems, ensuring that equipment works to its specification and to appropriate capacities, assessing safety and environmental issues, and liaising with installation/project engineers and specialists. Backer is proficient in using Primavera and MS Project to plan projects and determining the critical tasks involved.
