Balaka Biswas is a Machine Learning enthusiast and a Data Scientist at zxservices. She is currently a MLH Fellow for Spring 2021 and will be attending vGHC '21 and MLSA '21. Balaka's passion for data science started with her love for Mathematics, and she has been interested in Machine Learning for over a year now. She is skilled in Python development, data analytics, visualization, and automation. Balaka is also interested in NLP and web design and has a keen interest in open source projects. Balaka is currently pursuing her B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), with a remarkable GPA of 9.92/10. She has worked as an Open Source Developer (Fellow) at Major League Hacking and as a Content Writer, Collaborations, and PR at Entrepreneurship Cell IEM Kolkata. At zxservices, Balaka's responsibilities as a Data Scientist include data engineering, building NLP models, and controllers for scoring colleges based on user reviews. She is also responsible for extracting college review and performance rating data from the web and performing regular updates to the data cleaning algorithms to provide the backend team with user-readable data. Balaka is a Bharatanatyam dancer and loves dancing and listening to music in her free time. She also writes technical blogs on Medium. Balaka's education history includes a Bachelor of Technology - BTech in Computer Science from the Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata, and a fellowship in Open Source from MLH Fellowship. She also has a background in Science from Apeejay School Kolkata. Balaka's tech stack includes ML, Data Scientist, Spring, Web, Python, NLP, Research Scientist, Data Engineering, and Backend.
