Barnopriyo Barua is a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer with over 4 years of experience in the field. He is currently a Research Assistant Intern at the University of Alberta, where he is working on recognizing and predicting research expertise based on previous publications. Barnopriyo has used this knowledge to recommend an expert given a scientific query based on various factors like recency, keywords, etc. He has also performed a comparative study of various methods used to perform this task. Barnopriyo's passion for software development led him to join Microsoft in June 2018 as a Senior Software Engineer. Prior to that, he worked at Weoptit Oy as a Developer, where he worked on creating selenium-based web scrapers. Barnopriyo completed his Dual Degree (B.Tech + M.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 2018. He also completed his 1st Grade to 12th Grade education from J.H. Ambani School, Lodhivali. Barnopriyo is a quick learner who is constantly looking to challenge himself and develop his skills in every way possible.
