Bassam Mehanni is an accomplished Director of Engineering at Indeed.com, with over 15 years of experience in the industry. He has a passion for solving real-world problems using technology and enjoys connecting with others who share this passion. Currently, Bassam is leading the Notifications Platform organization at Indeed, which provides teams with tools and APIs to build communication experiences using email, notifications, SMS, WhatsApp, phone, and more. Bassam's experience includes working with Google Maps, where he spent four years leading exciting projects and successful teams in three different offices. He also got into the Push Notification and Email space while working at Google. Before joining Google, Bassam was the third engineer and first engineering hire outside of the founding team at Rev, where he played a crucial role in building a successful gig economy platform for transcription, caption, and translation solutions. Bassam started his professional career in Cleveland, Ohio, as a Database Administrator intern at Sherwin Williams. He later realized his passion for writing code and spent the next chapter of his career at Pointe Blank Solutions, writing software solutions in the legal and medical fields. Bassam holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Cleveland State University. His technical skills include Senior Software Engineering, DevOps, Frontend, Backend, QA, and Software Engineering. As a Director of Engineering at Indeed, Bassam has a cross-functional influence on partners in Product, QA automation, and SREs.
