Batul Unchwaniwala is a Laboratory Manager at Denali Therapeutics with a Master's degree in Biological Systems Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has over 4 years of relevant experience, having worked as an Associate Analytical Scientist at Sargento Foods, Inc. and a Faculty Assistant in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During her time as a graduate researcher, Batul's research project focused on developing novel electrochemical sensors for highly sensitive detection of toxic pollutants such as arsenic and lead found in water. She fully covered her master's degree tuition and other expenses by working as a teaching assistant in the Department of Chemistry at UW-Madison, where she conducted chemistry labs and led group discussions with the students about executing experiments and administered the relevant safety training. At Sargento Foods, Batul's role included maintenance and organization of the lab, buying flavors, chemicals, supplies, analytical lab equipment, providing training to the scientists on different lab equipment, and conducting chemical safety trainings. She developed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), designed and executed experiments based on the project needs, analyzed and interpreted the data using statistical software, and generated detailed analytical reports for the scientists. Batul is well-versed with SOP design, data management, and analysis. She is looking to go back to a similar job position that she previously had at Sargento Foods and is seeking a position that will fully utilize her skills and knowledge and offer an opportunity for continued professional and personal growth. Batul is a research scientist with experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis of different types of cheeses and cheese-based products using various technical instruments.
