Ben Larson is a Quant Pairing Software Developer at G-Research, with a passion for research and technical implementation. With almost 8 years of relevant experience, he has a proven track record of taking projects and ideas from inception to completion, both individually and with a team. Ben has experience in a variety of tools and technologies, but he most enjoys developing in the Rust language. He also has many years of professional experience using Python to solve all manner of problems. Prior to his current role at G-Research, Ben worked as a Software Engineer at OakNorth and a Scientist at Cantab Capital Partners LLP. At Cantab Capital Partners LLP, he was involved in the research and implementation of quantitative strategy and execution algorithms, with experience in machine learning and alternative data. He also attended many technical conferences and collaborated with others in the field. Ben holds a MMath and B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge, where he studied from 2013 to 2017. He also attended Rainham Mark Grammar School from 2009 to 2011. His technical skillset includes software engineering, research science, Python, and machine learning. Ben thrives on challenge, competition, and self-development, and is always looking for new opportunities to grow and learn.
