Ben McLaughlin is a highly experienced and transformational leader with over 28 years of experience in the IT industry. He is currently the Head of Cloud Strategy at Seagate Technology, where he is responsible for driving the company's cloud strategy and ensuring that it aligns with the company's overall business goals. Prior to his current role, Ben held several key positions at Seagate, including Senior Director of IT, Global Manufacturing Cybersecurity & Head of IT for Worldwide Recording Heads. In this role, he was responsible for managing cybersecurity risk in Seagate's largest Wafer Fab in EMEA for 20 years, for Seagate's two Wafer Fabs (US and EMEA) for almost 5 years, and for all seven of Seagate's major manufacturing facilities globally (US, EMEA, Asia) for 2 years. He also worked closely with Seagate's Corporate Security Council to secure advocacy and funding for significant global programs aligned to ensuring manufacturing systems and data are protected in line with risk appetite. Ben is a key member of Seagate's global Cybersecurity Core Team and has led the delivery of several global cybersecurity programs. He is responsible for governance, establishing and measuring controls aligned to the NIST cybersecurity framework and for providing cyber assurance. He has also managed all aspects of change, incident and problem management, and disaster recovery in line with the ITIL framework. Ben has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ulster University and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). He has a broad range of technical skills, including infra, research scientist, and senior software engineer. Overall, Ben is a highly skilled and experienced IT professional with a proven track record of delivering results. He is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of cybersecurity and cloud technologies, and he has a strong ability to lead and manage teams to achieve business goals.
