Benny Tjia is a highly accomplished Venture Capitalist (VC) with over 11 years of experience in the industry. He is currently the Managing Director of Quantum Ventures, a $30m Venture Capital fund that invests in early-stage companies developing innovative solutions to meet Indonesia's future needs through capital and synergy. Benny is responsible for leading the investment strategy and accelerating the growth of companies within Indonesia's renewable energy, electric vehicle, logistics, and fintech sectors through unlocking synergies with incumbents and SOEs. Prior to his current role, Benny served as Principal at Indogen Capital, a Venture Capital fund investing in early-stage companies across Southeast Asia with a greater emphasis on Indonesia. He led investments and portfolio support for the firm, which is an investor in Carsome, Spacemob (acquired by WeWork), Travelio, Wahyoo, and Evos Sports. Benny also co-founded Bornevia, a VC-backed tech startup that built Cloud (SaaS) Customer Support CRM Software. He raised two rounds of VC funding from East Ventures and Beenos/Beenext and grew the freemium user base from almost 5 to 1000 users in less than three months after founding. Bornevia was later acquired by another VC-backed company, isitup.com. Benny's educational background is impressive, with a Master's degree in Finance & Economics from Harvard University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan. He has also passed the CFA Level I exam and completed a Bachelor's degree exchange program in Computer Science from Stanford University. Benny received his early education from Canisius College (Kolese Kanisius).
