Bharat Gaind is a highly skilled Software Engineer III at Google HQ with a strong background in backend development, cloud-based technologies, systems, DL, ML, and NLP. He graduated from IIT Roorkee in 2016 and worked as a Software Engineer in Samsung for 3+ years in Samsung Pay and Samsung Ads. Bharat's research spans across domains such as suggestion detection using Multi task learning, course prerequisite detection and dynamic course generation using NLP, adaptive classification-based web scraping, and detection of short-term interests of users using Topic Modeling. He interned at Google in summer 2020 and was a Deep Learning Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, where he pursued his masters in Computational Data Science. Currently, Bharat is working in Google Travel as a SWE III in the Ads Product Area. He has also worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Google, where he collaborated with three teams to implement a new method to support Affinity in Youtube ads forecasting by matching Affinity embeddings. He implemented a three-way outer join with large Affinity embedding datasets, optimized relevant features of Google Search APIs, and documented various design options to avoid version misalignment. The new method resulted in constant space complexity (that was previously variable) and eliminated information loss, thus ensuring better forecasting quality compared to existing implementations. Bharat's education history includes a Master of Computational Data Science from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from IIT Roorkee.
