Bharath Vissapragada is a highly skilled software engineer with over 10 years of relevant experience in the field. He is currently working at Salesforce as a Principal Member of Technical Staff, where he is involved in the development of HBase, a distributed KV store. Bharath is a PMC and committer on the Apache HBase project, and he is working in the intersection of OLTP and streaming analytics. He is passionate about the field and has a deep understanding of the latest trends and technologies. Prior to joining Salesforce, Bharath worked at Cloudera as a Staff Software Engineer, where he was a part of the Impala team. Impala is an MPP SQL engine optimized for BI style queries over distributed file systems like HDFS. Bharath contributed to various sub-systems in the project, and he is a PMC and committer on the Apache Impala project. Bharath has also worked at Google as a part of the Google Summer of Code program. He worked with the Apache Software Foundation in 2012 on Apache Hive and with the OpenStreetMap foundation in 2011 on OSRM (Open Street Routing Machine). Bharath completed his Bachelors and Masters in Computer Science from IIIT Hyderabad in 2012. He has a strong technical background and is proficient in various technologies, including SQL, HDFS, and Apache Hive.
