Bhavul is a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer, Research Scientist, and Data Scientist with over 6.5 years of experience in ML research and building scalable ML systems. He is currently working at Meta (formerly Facebook) as a Machine Learning Engineer, building Entity understanding models using a variety of ML techniques such as Collaborative Filtering, Dynamic Clustering, Graph ML, NLP, and Sequence Modelling. His work has generated a significant impact on the FB Watch Recommendations product. Bhavul is proficient in Natural Language Processing and Recommender systems. He possesses a generalist back-end and front-end knowledge, having worn multiple hats in a startup before. He loves building products and is passionate about making impactful contributions to the world/humanity/science via ML and AI. He is always up-to-date with the latest research papers and enjoys speaking at tech meet-ups and conferences. Currently, Bhavul is working at Zapr as a Research Scientist in Data Science/ML. He is the key creator and owner of the Dekho App and is responsible for building the recommendation system powering it completely. He has also worked on smaller computer vision projects such as Depth map prediction, Content frame detection, TV Video Ad Classifier, and Face detection projects using both classical OpenCV approaches as well as deep learning-based approaches. In the past, Bhavul has worked at Foyr, a real estate start-up, where he laid down the foundation for the AI pipeline. He also worked at Endurance International Group as a Software Developer in ML and Backend, where he authored an Artificial Intelligence-based Logo Builder app and developed a font-pairing engine. Bhavul has a Master of Science degree in Mathematics and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He also completed his High School from Mira Model Senior Secondary School.
