Bijay Nayak is an experienced and self-driven professional with more than 16 years of diversified roles in managing, leading, and implementing DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. He has extensive knowledge and practical settings in IT service management, cloud platforms, migrations, technology strategy, and finance and payments domain. Currently, Bijay is working as an Assistant Director - SRE Manager/Lead at EY, where he manages and leads the team in measuring reliability with SLI/SLO/Error Budget of applications. He interfaces with developers, product managers/owners to improve and implement SRE practices and observability. He also drives process and run book automation and documentation to minimize mean-time-to-repair (MTTR). Additionally, he supports design and architecture review and works on reliability gaps to build the tools and technology. He manages on-call rotations, incident communication, and drives root cause analysis. He also drives proactive testing of the availability and reliability of the products. Previously, Bijay has worked as a Senior DevOps Engineer at Intuit, where he drove improvements in production support, system monitoring, dashboard, and RCA process to meet operational excellence. He also established and improved SLI/SLO/SLA of supported applications to achieve customer experiences and the reliability of services within defined Service Level Objectives. He established CICD, infrastructure automation practices on cloud applications to achieve speed and zero-downtime releases. He also worked on application containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes for micro-services. Before Intuit, Bijay worked as an Associate at JP Morgan, where he was responsible for driving operational excellence for the connected services that a business offers to its customers to deliver an "always-on" operation, year-round, at the right cost. He analyzed and synthesized a variety of inputs to drive the end-to-end incident management process for multiple offerings, including creating, developing & managing the deployment architecture for the application. Bijay has a Master's degree in Computer Programming, Specific Applications from KIIT University and a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Gangadhar Meher University. He also completed his 10+2 (Senior Secondary) in Science (Math/Bio) from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.
