Bill May is a highly motivated and customer-focused technology leader with over 19 years of experience in product management, eCommerce, enterprise solutions, and lean-agile methodologies. He is passionate about improving customer experiences through technology and helping organizations set measurable outcomes for their business objectives. Bill is an expert in product strategy, portfolio management, KPI and business case development, web analytics, business analysis, functional analysis, and systems analysis. Currently, Bill is serving as the Director of IT, Delivery at Costco Travel, where he supports the technology that enables the growing and expanding business and offerings of the company. He leads a collection of amazing product delivery teams powered by wonderful and capable people who excel in a variety of disciplines such as software engineering, software testing, technology product management, user research and experience, lean-agile coaching and education, and technical communications. Bill is responsible for setting the direction and vision for the product teams, defining the product roadmap, and ensuring the successful delivery of products that meet the needs of customers. Prior to joining Costco Travel, Bill worked as a Senior Program Manager at TORQworks, where he was responsible for releases of all online products. He defined, documented, and implemented the organization's agile methodology and managed the product roadmap and feature backlogs. He built customer relationships to solicit invaluable feedback that helped drive product direction and managed the test process and triage bugs. Bill successfully managed the initial release of the company's main product cTORQ, along with more than four feature releases since. Bill also worked as a Functional Analyst at Starbucks, where he successfully delivered Release I of Account Review 7 (AR7), a highly configurable Software as a Service (SAAS) application designed to support Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Trade Funds Management (TFM) businesses. He fully owned the business/functional analysis, requirements specification, end-user training, and delivery of a customized middleware application built to sit in between AR7 and Starbucks' ERP system. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington. He is a product manager, test, research scientist, and web expert.
